Antrim Playhouse

Rockland County’s longest-running community theater since 1936, the Antrim Playhouse is now located at the historic Manse Barn in Tappan, NY. Featuring yearly main stage productions, consisting of both plays and musicals, as well as offering writing and acting workshops, scene studies and special guest performances. The Manse Barn was built in 1726 by Domine Samuel Verbryck who lived there during the American Revolution and was a friend of General George Washington. Verbryck also founded Rutgers College in New Jersey.

Edward Hopper House Museum & Study Center

This birthplace and boyhood home of the eminent realist painter Edward Hopper was built in 1858. The restored house is a NYS Historic Site. Edward Hopper House is a nonprofit art center with exhibitions featuring the work of emerging and established artists, in addition to an ongoing display of early Edward Hopper works and memorabilia. The outdoor garden is the setting for jazz concerts on summer evenings.
